The story of Tindhestar
From an early age, Birta grew up on the farm Skálakot surrounded by the majestic Icelandic horses, deeply immersed in the family’s passion for riding and exploration. For over 40 years, her parents led unforgettable Highland tours, guiding riders through Iceland’s untamed wilderness and sharing their profound connection to these remarkable horses.
Today, Birta and her partner Tor proudly carry on this legacy with Tindhestar. Tor, originally from Sweden, has been part of the Skálakot team since 2017, working as a guide for Highland tours and bringing his expertise and deep love for Icelandic nature and horses to every adventure. With decades of experience and an unwavering commitment to excellence, we are dedicated to providing authentic, high-quality riding experiences.
